It was expanded in the 6th century, decorated with frescoes in the 12th century, and is now a museum. Vézelay Abbey (Basilique Ste-Madeleine) Vézelay, Burgundy Famed for its Romanesque sculpture, this 12th-century basilica is the largest Romanesque church in France. It attracted many pilgrims due to its relics of Mary Magdalene.
