The Basics
Advertising on Sacred Destinations is easy and can fit even the smallest budgets. Our simple monthly rates are clearly defined below. You can order any combination of placements and commit to as many months as you'd like, starting from just one month. Significant discounts are offered for advertising orders of a year or more - see the annual rate in the chart below.
How it works: You fill out a short order form with your ad information, then we'll respond personally by e-mail, answer any questions you may have, and send you an itemized e-mail invoice (via PayPal or Google Checkout). Your ads will be published as soon as the invoice is paid.
Because we care about our visitors' experience, all ads are subject to editorial review and must be relevant to the page and useful to our visitors. So we won't accept ads for gambling or debt relief, but we are happy to promote such relevant services as guided tours, retreats, conferences, hotel reservations, flights, books, tourism offices, and so on.
1. Text Advertising
This is our most popular form of advertising. Your text ad can appear on any relevant page on Sacred Destinations for the same flat rate, so you can choose the exact page(s) that work best for your product. Need suggestions or have questions? Don't hesitate to contact us.
Our advertising rates depend on the position and type of ad, with significant discounts if you pre-pay a year or more of advertising. In addition, if you buy 10 ads for any amount of time, an additional ad is free for the same amount of time. The main options are listed below - you can order any combination of these.

2. Spiritual Tours Directory
Do you provide a guided tour, retreat or pilgrimage to sacred sites? You can reach travelers looking for just this kind of tour by adding your listing to our specialized Spiritual Tours Directory. Submissions are subject to editorial approval and a fee of $10 per month or a discount pre-paid rate of $90 per year, for which your tour will be listed on multiple pages - under all relevant countries and categories.
Further discounts are available for those if you list five or more tours. Tours are listed by date, with the soonest first, then alphabetically. We will create a new country or category page for your tour if a relevant one does not already exist.
To add your tour(s) to the directory, please e-mail us the following details for each tour:
- Duration of listing (in months) - you can extend later
- Title of tour
- URL (link) to information on your tour
- Short description of tour
- Dates of tour
- Price per person
3. Google Advertising
Another way to advertise on Sacred Destinations is to join the relevant text ads that appear prominently at the top of every page and in various other positions throughout the site. These are served automatically by Google based on the content of our page, content of the ad, and advertisers' bids.
To try it out, create an account with Google AdWords. Then, on the Campaign Summary page, choose "site-targeted" in the "Create a new campaign" section near the top of the page. Enter "www.sacred-destinations.com" as the website on which you want your ads to appear. You can choose your daily budget, targeted audience, and a whole lot more. Then, usually within minutes, your ad will appear among the Google text ads on Sacred Destinations.
4. Banner Ads
As part of our commitment to visitor experience and attractive design, we do not generally display banner ads anywhere above the fold. However, we are willing to place attractive and relevant banners at the bottom of our pages. Rates for this placement start at $35/month or $350/year. Please contact us for details.
