Sacred Destinations is supported by relevant text ads from a variety of advertisers, who reach our audience of over 360,000 visitors per month. These visitors are especially interested in travel, religion, history, archaeology, pilgrimages and/or spirituality. Direct Advertising

If your product or service is relevant to our visitors, your text or image ad can appear on the related page of your choice. Advertising rates depend on the position and type of ad. Payment is simple - a monthly fee via PayPal e-mail invoice, which can be paid in any currency.

The primary direct advertising options are as follows:

1. Link and short description near the bottom of an article or index page - $10 per month (buy 12 months get 1 free)
2. Prominent link on a city page under Travel Resources (see Paris for layout) - $30 per month (buy 12 months get 1 free)
3. Prominent ad embedded in an article (see this sample page) - $30 per month for text; $50 per month with an image (buy 10 months get 1 free)

We're open to other placements as well, so let us know if you have specific requests. In addition to the discounts above, if you buy any advertising on 10 or more pages for any amount of time, one of those pages is free.

Please note that all advertisements are subject to editorial approval and must be relevant to the page and useful to our visitors.

To get started, pease contact us at webmaster@sacred-destinations.com to set up your ads, including the following information in your e-mail for each ad:

1. Desired location on Sacred Destinations (title or URL of page)
2. Type of ad (#1, #2 or #3 above)
3. Duration of ad (how many months you'd like to prepay)
4. Title of ad (also known as "anchor text"), e.g. "Guided Tours of Rome"
5. Link to your website, e.g. "http://www.example.com/tours/rome-2010"
6. Short description text, e.g. "Get the best tour of Rome with your own personal guide."

Tour Directory

Do you provide a guided tour, retreat or pilgrimage to sacred sites? You can reach travelers looking for just this kind of tour by adding your listing to our specialty Tour Directory. Each listing is subject to editorial approval and a fee of $10 per month or a special pre-paid rate of $100 per year. For this rate, your tour will be listed on multiple pages - under all relevant countries and categories. We will create a new country or category page if a relevant one does not already exist.

Payment is via PayPal invoice, which we will send to you via e-mail. You can pay using a PayPal account, credit card, or bank account. You can choose to commit just a month at a time, or order as many months as you'd like ahead of time. If you order a listing for 12 months or more, you get one month more free. If you have many tours to list, bulk discounts are available.

Google AdWords

Another popular way to advertise on Sacred Destinations is to join the relevant text ads that appear at the top of every page. These are served automatically by Google based on the content of the page and advertisers' bids. To try it out, go to adwords.google.com. On the Campaign Summary page, choose "site-targeted" in the "Create a new campaign" section near the top of the page. Enter "www.sacred-destinations.com" as the website on which you want your ads to appear. You can choose your daily budget, targeted audience, and a whole lot more. Then, usually within minutes, your ad will appear among the Google text ads at the top of relevant articles on Sacred Destinations.
