Photo Gallery: The Pump Room, Bath

This gallery of 12 photos accompanies our article on The Pump Room in Bath. This is not a sacred site, but it is home to the best afternoon tea in Britain (in my opinion) and is right next door to the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey. It doesn't come cheap, but as a one-time splurge it is so worth it. The clotted cream is divinely rich, the scones are moist and fresh, and the tiny sandwiches are perfection. And of course, no visit to Bath is complete without a taste of the warm mineral water from the sacred springs (50 pence for a small glass) - it tastes quite "disagreeable" but has long been believed to cure all your ills.
