Medieval stained glass (c.1180) depicting an angel warning the sleeping Three Magi not to return to Herod. The Magi look charmingly cozy in their communal bed; it was common practice for travelers to share beds in the Middle Ages. (Leaving one's crown on in bed was probably not quite so common.)
This is the central roundel in the fourth register of the Second Typological Window (n. XV, 23) in the north choir aisle. It is flanked by two Old Testament scenes that share the theme of warning: Lot's Wife (Gen 19:17-26) on the left and the Prophet in Bethel (3 Ki 13:1-9) on the right.
