Canterbury Cathedral's Stained Glass

Medieval stained glass panel depicting Balaam on His Ass (a.k.a. donkey). Top left panel of the Second Typological Window (n. XV, 37; c.1180 AD).

According to Numbers 24:17, Balaam prophesied that "there shall come a star out of Jacob and a sceptre shall rise out of Israel."This flanks the Journey of the Magi, to which the prophecy was believed to refer.
