Looking down the "axis" of Stonehenge, through the outer circle to the heel stone. This is the direction in which Stonehenge was aligned for the Midsummer sunrise (viewed this way) and the Midwinter sunset (viewed the opposite direction down the axis, behind us). Photo Chris Powell.
