Capital: Flight of Simon the Magician (Detail)

Detail of Peter and Paul on a Romanesque capital in the nave depicting the flight of Simon the Magician (Simon Magus). Simon tries to prove his superiority over the miracle-working apostles Peter and Paul by flying. The rest of the story is told in a nearby capital: the apostles pray, Simon hurdles to the ground, and a devil laughs at him.
