Capital: The Risen Christ (Detail)
Romanesque capital in the nave depicting the Empty Tomb and Risen Christ. The capital is divided in half, with each scene wrapping around the side. The scene on the right side (not shown here) comes first - the three holy women arrive at Christ's tomb, only to find it empty. An angel in the tomb announces that Christ has risen from the dead. Next, on the left, two of the women discuss the incredible events but Mary Magdalene recognizes Christ himself, and kneels at his feet.
