Chartres Cathedral: Blue Virgin Window (c.1150)

Blue Virgin Window (c.1150)

The Blue Virgin Window (known in French as Notre Dame de la Belle Verrière, "Our Lady of the Beautiful Window") dates from around 1150. It is now part of a window at the front of the south ambulatory aisle. The face of the Virgin is unfortunately a modern replacement, but the remainder is original. Chartres Cathedral, France.
