Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Bonn

Detail of the gravestone of Meteriola, 5th century AD. This monument shows that in the 5th century not all Romans were yet Christians: Meteriola was baptized only eight years before her death. The stone was originally a threshold of a building and became the cover plate for the grave of Meteriola.
