Tombstone of Gaius Julius Baccus (1st C)

Tombstone of Gaius Julius Baccus, who was born in Lyon. The carving shows a the deceased enjoying a banquet, which expressed the hope of luxury in the afterlife in compensation for a hard life on earth. The monument dates from the 1st century AD.
