Getting to Erfurt

Erfurt is easily accessible by train, plane or automobile.

To reach Erfurt by air from Europe, fly into the Erfurt-Bindersleben Flughafen (3 miles from the city center). Ryanair has regular flights from London Stanstead.

All of Germany's Die Bahn train lines (ICE, IC and EC) have stops in Erfurt. The ICE (Inter-City Express) train is the fastest and best, and will take you from Frankfurt to Erfurt in about two hours.

To reach Erfurt by car, use the A4 autobahn that runs from Frankfurt/Main to Dresden. Exit at Erfurt-Ost and follow the signs to the Innenstadt. You can also use the A71, the B4 or the B7. Be sure to ask your hotel about the parking situation before you arrive.
