Under the altar in the front of the church is a stone said to be the one on which Jesus laid the miraculously-multiplied meal. In front of it is a fine mosaic of a two fishes flanking a basket of bread. On the right is a glass cover protecting the remnants of the foundations of the ancient church. On the left of the altar is an inscription identifying Patriarch Martyrios of Jerusalem (479-486) as the founder of the church. Photo © BibleWalks.
