Ambo (c.1110): Balustrade Relief

Relief of animals among vines on the north balustrade of the marble ambo, made in the early 12th century (some sources say 1110, others 1143) and reconstructed after the roof collapsed in 1196. This is the only part of the balustrade that survived the roof collapse. Sant'Ambrogio Basilica, Milan, Italy.
