Triumphal Arch Mosaic: Sheep

The mosaics on the upper part of the triumphal arch (or choir arch) date from the 9th century. The lower part shows the holy cities of Bethlehem and Jerusalem, from which twelve sheep representing the Twelve Apostles emerge and ascend the hill toward Christ.
