This gallery of 72 photos accompanies our article on Santa Maria degli Angeli, Rome, an interesting basilica on the Piazza della Repubblica that was designed by Michelangelo and incorporates the remains of the huge Baths of Diocletian. Inside are works of medieval and modern art, monumental tombs, holy relics, and an astronomical gnomon. All photos were taken by me in July 2006.
