St. Peter's Basilica, Rome

Bronze statue of St. Peter Enthroned, located in the northwestern (right front) corner of the nave and attributed to late 13th-century sculptor Arnolfo di Cambio (but some still date it back to the 5th century). It is robed and crowned on high festivals, and its outstretched foot is smoothed down due to centuries of pilgrims' caresses.
