Piccolomini Library Frescoes (1502-07)
Frescoes of the Piccolomini Library painted by Pinturicchio (1502-07). The large frescoes on the wall depict Pope Pius II (then Archbishop of Siena) introducing Emperor Frederick III to his betrothed and his coronation as cardinal. In the foreground is an ancient Roman sculpture group of the Three Graces. Duomo, Siena, Italy.
