Two of Basilica San Marco's gloriously gilded cupolas. The one on the bottom is the Ascension Dome, with mosaics dating from the 13th century. It was created by Venetian craftsmen who were strongly influenced by Byzantine art and depicts New Testament scenes and Christ in Glory shown above personifications of the Virtues.
