Renting a Car

Cordoba, Spain: Our zippy Seat Leon rented through Auto Europe.

Southern Spanish countryside (and husband's arm) from the Seat Leon.

Cologne, Germany: Our beautiful Peugeot rented through Auto Europe.
Renting your own car makes the most sense for travel transportation if:
- you want to tour sights located outside of major cities;
- you want maximum flexibility during your vacation;
- you have two or more in your travel group (sharing a car is cheaper than separate train tickets); or
- you have difficulty packing light!
Car rental agencies have a variety of pick-up locations, which always include major airports. It's always best to book ahead to make sure you have the car you want upon your arrival. Then you can head right out of the airport or train station and on to the sightseeing!
For Americans traveling abroad, we have chosen Auto Europe as our car rental partner. They have over 50 years of experience in renting cars to travelers, access to a huge fleet (meaning a bigger selection of cars in more cities) and they guarantee the lowest rates!
We have personally used Auto Europe twice with great success: a roomy Peugeot sedan from Cologne and a zippy Seat Leon rented in Seville. Both rentals went smoothly and we got great service from AutoEurope online and over the phone.
Auto Europe's large fleet includes everything from tiny budget cars to luxury sedans, vans to SUVs, and even motorhomes and Ferraris! And if you need a car for 17 days or more, the Peugeot short-term lease program is a fantastic deal. To check rates and book your rental car, please choose a pick-up country:
