House of the Drinking Contest, Seleucia Pieria
View from the east of the House of the Drinking Contest at Seleucia Pieria, with mosaics in situ before they were lifted. This is the triclinium, a dining room with three couches for reclining. This room led into the portico (at the top of the photo) by means of a large door framed by columns.
The mosaic of the Drinking Contest in the center is not to be confused with the Drinking Contest mosaic from the Atrium House. It was a common theme in pleasure-loving ancient Antioch.
