Part of the border of the Megalopsychia Hunt Mosaic, which depicts a "day in the life" of fifth-century Antioch and Daphne and provided a guided tour from one to the other. This portion is part of the bottom border as you face the Megalopsychia, as here (it would be upside down to the viewer). The label on the top says "Workshops of the Martyrion." This is where souvenirs were made for pilgrims to the shrine of St. Babylas in Daphne. In front of the workshops reclines the manager fo the establishment, Markellinos, accompanied by his dog. On the left, a servant named Chalkomas offers refreshment to his master. On the right, a group composed of a man, an elderly woman, and a young woman seem to pause to the left of the Olympic Stadium (seen in full here). 450-75 AD, Yakto village near Daphne. Antakya Museum, inv. 1016. Information from Glanville Downey, Ancient Antioch (1963), illustration 58.
