Afternoon prayer in the Blue Mosque, Istanbul.

Muslims pray five times each day facing the direction of Mecca. Prayer times vary depending on the time of year, but are usually posted outside the mosque. Visitors should avoid touring the mosque during prayer times or at least be extra quiet and respectful until prayer time is over.
