Temple of Apollo, Didyma (reconstruction-c-osseman.jpg, 600 x 395, 78.5K)

An illustration of what the Temple of Apollo may have looked like when it was built, as seen on a sign at the site. For various reasons, the Temple of Apollo at Didyma was never completed - many believe it would have been one of the Ancient Wonders of the World had it been finished. Even in its incomplete state, it was the third largest in the classical world after the great temples of Ephesus and Samos.
