Seattle Asian Art Museum, Seattle
Housed in a renovated Art Deco building in Seattle's Volunteer Park, the Seattle Asian Art Museum has vast collections of Chinese and Japanese art as well as works from Korea, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Himalayas.
The museum is thus an excellent place to see a wide variety of religious artifacts without a trip to Asia.
Among the museum's most notable pieces are the Chinese terracotta funerary art, Chinese snuff bottles, and Japanese netsukes (belt decorations).
One room is devoted to Japanese ceramics, while three rooms are devoted to Chinese ceramics.
The central hall contains stone-carved religious sculptures from South Asia, primarily India.
The museum also hosts frequent lectures and concerts.
