Photo of Great Chapel, Bishop's Palace, St. Davids

« Previous

The west gable of the great chapel. Adjacent to the great chamber in the south range of the palace, this chapel was only accessible to those important enough to have entered the great hall and great chamber.

The northwest corner of the chapel is crowned with a small belfry which in turn carries a broached spirulet. Two bells were hung in the belfry, and were rung by way of ropes hanging down into the chahpel through the two square sockets.

See the previous photo for a view of the east side of the chapel, and the next photo for a view of the exterior.
