View across the courtyard to the great chapel (left) and west range of the Bishop's Palace (13th-14th centuries) in St Davids, Wales.
The west range is the oldest section of the palace, dating from the late 12th century or early 13th century. It was originally a single-story building but was modified in the 14th century when the undercrofts were inserted below and two dormitory-style chambers were created above.
