Sacred Destinations

Photo Gallery: St David's Cathedral

Tomb of Edmund Tudor, Earl of Richmond and father of Henry VII, located just outside the choir in the presbytery. Edmund's tomb was transferred here when the Greyfriars at Carmarthen was dissolved shortly after the Reformation.

The brass is a Victorian replica replacing the original which was torn away by Parliamentary soldiers in 1648. The Earl's feet rest on a greyhound, one of the supporters of the Tudor coat of arms.

See next photo for a closer view of the brass image.
