This sign, perched atop the oak reliquary in the Holy Trinity Chapel, explains (in Welsh and English, as all public signs in Wales) the possible identity of the relics inside. St. Justinian was a local saint and contemporary of David. Recent carbon dating carried out at the University of Oxford showed that these relics were from around the 14th century. The original relics of St. David are believed to have been lost or destroyed during the Reformation. More information on the carbon dating procedure and results from Oxford, BBC, and History.co.uk.
