Sacred Destinations

An illustrated guide to sacred sites, pilgrimages, sacred art & architecture, historic religious places & more.

Photo Gallery: St David's Cathedral

A statue of St. David stands in the 14th-century pulpitum, the stone screen separating the nave from the choir. Note the dove on his shoulder, which is said to have descended on him as he spoke eloquently during a 6th-century synod. To David's left and our right is the tomb of Bishop Gower, who built this beautiful stone screen.
