Gloucester Cathedral: Mason's Bracket in South Transept

Mason's Bracket in South Transept

"The Mason's Bracket" in the south transept. This is believed to be a memorial to an apprentice mason who fell from the vault some time in the 1300s. The monument is L-shaped like a mason's set-square. The master mason looks up in horror as the apprentice falls.
