Rievaulx Abbey: North Side of the Presbytery

North Side of the Presbytery

Ecclesiastical north (actual east) of the presbytery. Rebuilt in the 1220s, the presbytery of the abbey church is one of the great works of Early English Gothic architecture. It has strong similarities with the architecture of Ely Cathedral. Rievaulx Abbey, founded 1132. North Yorkshire, England.
