Rievaulx Abbey: Presbytery Looking West

Presbytery Looking West

View of the abbey church from the presbytery, looking ecclesiastical west (actual north) to the nave. Rebuilt in the 1220s, the presbytery of the abbey church is one of the great works of Early English Gothic architecture. It has strong similarities with the architecture of Ely Cathedral. Rievaulx Abbey, founded 1132. North Yorkshire, England.
