Anzy-Le-Duc Church: South Door Tympanum

South Door Tympanum

South door in the outer wall, which was originally a main entrance into the priory. The tympanum dates from the mid-12th century and is crowded with lively sculptures. Subjects include the Adoration of the Magi, Adam and Eve, and a coiled serpent tormenting the damned in Hell.
