Anzy-Le-Duc Church: South Door Tympanum

South Door Tympanum

A coiled serpent tormenting the damned in Hell. Detail of the south door in the outer wall, which was originally a main entrance into the priory. The tympanum dates from the mid-12th century and is crowded with lively sculptures.
