Architectural Development in the Nave Vault
Nave vault, looking west. Note that the arches become increasingly pointed as construction progressed west. The church was completed around 1230, when the Gothic style was beginning to emerge. The paint is from the 19th century. St-Pierre de Chauvigny, Poitou-Charentes, France.
