Under the altar in the front of the church is a stone said to be the one on which Jesus laid the miraculously-multiplied meal. In front of it is a fine mosaic of a two fishes flanking a basket of bread. On the right of the altar is a glass cover protecting the remnants of the foundations of the older ancient church (from 3rd C AD). Photo © Bettina & Dominique Zygmont.
