Legend of Saint Francis 7: Confirmation of the Rule. One of 28 frescoes in a series by Giotto in the Upper Church (1297-99). Following his vision, Pope Innocent III confirms the rule of the new Franciscan community. Francis' companions and the Church dignitaries follow the action with expressions of concentration.
