North Transept Window (1230)

The beautiful north transept window, a gift from Queen Blanche of Castille in 1230. The rose illustrates the Glorification of the Virgin, with the Virgin and Child surrounded by doves and angels, Old Testament kings and prophets. The lancet windows below depict: Melchizadek and King Saul; King David and King Jeroboam; St Anne and the infant Mary with the arms of the Royal House of France; King Solomon and King Nebuchadezzar; Aaron and Pharaoh.
