Facade and Tower
Top of west facade and conical roof of the right tower, both mid-12th-century, Notre-Dame-la-Grande, Poitiers. The mandorla at top center depicts Christ in Majesty. Both the richly sculpted facade and pinecone tower are characteristics of Romanesque churches in the Poitou region.
