Senanque Abbey: Lavender and Poppies

Lavender and Poppies

Lavender and poppies on the grounds of the abbey. Nestled in a valley in Provence famed for its lavender fields, the Cistercian Abbey of Senanque was founded in 1148. The austere and harmonious church, built in the Romanesque style, was consecrated in 1178.
