Cologne Cathedral: Younger Bible Window (c.1280)

Younger Bible Window (c.1280)

God (identified by an inscription as Jesus Christ) calling Moses from the Burning Bush. Detail of the so-called Younger Bible Window in Cologne Cathedral, c.1280 (restored), located at the west end of the south ambulatory. The window was commissioned by the theologian Albertus Magnus and the Archbishop of Cologne for the new choir of Cologne's Dominican church, which was demolished in 1804. Some of the medieval panels have survived, but others some of the medallions were replaced by the Cologne stained glass studio Schneiders & Schmolz.
