Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland, its largest city, and the world's northernmost national capital (its not far from the Arctic Circle).
It receives only four hours of daylight per day in the depth of winter, and during the summer the nights are almost as bright as the days.
Reykjavik has a population of about 115,000. The majority religion in Reykjavik is Lutheranism (which is also the state religion of Iceland) and the city is home to a Lutheran cathedral, a Catholic cathedral, and several small Lutheran churches.
