Mosaic of John Chrysostom in the nave of the Hagia Sophia. Chrysostom (a nickname meaning "Golden-Mouthed") was a popular 4th-century preacher from Antioch who later became Patriarch of Constantinople. This mosaic dates from around the late 9th century and was uncovered after Hagia Sophia became a museum in the 1930s. Photo in the public domain.
