Lahore, Pakistan

Lahore is a city of rich history and culture in Pakistan, near the Indian border. It is the capital of the province of Punjab, the second largest city in Pakistan, and has more colleges and universities than any other Pakistani city. During its long history it has been ruled by Mughals, Sikhs, and the British, and today is a melting pot of Muslims (who form the majority), Hindus, Sikhs and Christians. Not suprisingly, Lahore is rich with fascinating religious sites, the most famous of which is the Badshahi Mosque from the Mughal period.
