Located by the Saône River in the 2nd arrondissement, the Grande Synagogue of Lyon was built in 1864 on the site of a former salt storehouse.
The harmonious architecture of the Grand Synagogue has preserved the soul of traditional synagogues while adapting to the current western architectural style at the time of its construction.
