York Minster   The largest Gothic cathedral north of the Alps, York Minster has breathtaking proportions and a stained glass window the size of a tennis court. Clifford's Tower   This remnant of a 13th-century castle was the site of anti-Jewish mob violence in 1190, in which 150 Jews lost their lives. Holy Trinity Church A charming medieval church with uneven floors and wooden box pews. Margaret Clitherow Shrine   Explore the tiny house of a Catholic hero who died at Protestant hands in 1586. St. Mary's Abbey This picturesque ruined medieval abbey in the gardens of the Yorkshire Museum is the legendary home of Friar Tuck.
